I inject myself daily with 135ml of Clexane from a 150ml syringe, requiring me to expel 15ml.

In order to retain the air bubble, which I believe is there to ensure the full amount is injected, do I hold the syringe needle up or down when ejecting the surplus ?

Cheers.

you seriously do a bolus injection of 150mls???? man that's gotta hurt!
Mrs Zacs was a nurse and she says.......
No idea. Sorry.

He said 135ml.
Have you not been trained as to how to do this?
Perhaps I'm reading this question incorrectly; however, surely you don't wish to inject an air-bubble into yourself. To get rid of the bubble you hold the syringe vertically up.
ok but 135mls is enormous!

derek never inject air into your body via a syringe, it will potentially kill you

Thanks for your answers folks and I apologise for my error. My daily dose is 135 mgs - not mls !
The needle is about 0.5 inches long and the injection is given subcutaneously, in the abdominal area or thigh - not into a vein It is virtually painless although there is a slight after-sting which lasts about a minute.

Yes, Tilly, I was shown how to inject myself but not how to expel any surplus correctly. The Clexane info link which Chris( Buenchico) kindly provided explains that the needle should be held point downwards to retain the air bubble, so problem solved !

Thanks again.
