I am quite old and disabled. I had a very active life and lived it to the full. I still try to get out as much as I can and join in real life, but due to many health issues now, it's not always possible. I have real friends, but I don't see them as much as I would like. I use facebook to keep in touch with old friends and relations all over the world. But my mind is still sharp and I love to hear people's views on current affairs and other things,. AB is ideal for this and better than most tv in the evening's.

I don't consider people on here to be friends as such, but there are those that I relate to and those I don't. It is real life, full of real live people and very varied people. I love reading through the news section! I love people's ideas on TV programs. Far better than biased media.

I agree that it is not really a question and answer site and find it quite cliquey, but I don't get involved there.

Nelliemay,so sorry to hear you can’t get about like you once did, I am rather fortunate that I will be 82 in July and am still able to walk ,and swim ,and enjoy a beer,we are in a hotel in Cyprus at the moment,the weather has been changeable but has not kept us from our walks by the seafront,lots of old people in this hotel and some sadly on there own,Nelliemay you say you relate to some on here,you can talk to me anytime you wish my dear,I will always have time for you,keep well,XXX

I never shirk a reply, jordy. The only reason I didn't reply was because the thread was closed.

I can be as nasty as I feel I have to be and I wouldn't pretend like some that I am the victim when clearly it is half a dozen of one and six of the other.

Your last reply to NellieMay rather flies in the face of your OP and so does the best answer but maybe you didn't really understand the best answer?
