Who Was Satan

Having just reread through Naomi's post re: Jesus, I realise that all through my early church indoctrination, I never got any satisfactory explanation about the biblical character of Satan.
I got the usual story about Satan been a fallen angel who was previously known as Lucifer and read the bible stories about the temptation of Jesus by Satan etc, blah, blah, blah.
However, The references to 'The Dark Lord' are few and far between and any coherent history of this biblical character is hard to piece together using only the Bible.
If you believe in a Satan character then you have a lot of explaining to do regarding an omnipotent God.
Would be interested to hear how anyone views this character and would be interested to hear how you would answer any questions put to you about him/it.
(Im also familiar with the saying that Satans greatest trick is to not believe in his existence before anyone trots that one out, thanks)

You had eight separate questions and I tried to put altogether in a way you would understand through the Bible Scriptures but it seems like you missed the point . So I would attend to give you another way of examining what I am trying to say. For me Satan is a real energetic person and very dangerous. Now in Joe chapter 1.1-22 is different than Joe chapter 2 .1.13 note that the Angels used to to take their station before their God( why ?) and even Satan enter and to his place , and in jod .1 .7 and arguments between Satan and GOD a row is in the four courts, and everybody was listening to this argument ?( Malicious. jealous .Self-seeking .manslayer), Angel(Satan) carefully used his words of incitement like he did in the garden of eden (genesis 3.1.5 ) and all the spiritual Angels could hear is discussion. And they must have had an assignment on the earth because in job .1..7 he answers, from roaming about and walking about in it . And, Now have you set your sights on my servant JOB.. You see how he questions god's rights of authority. Because you have put a hedge around him and you blissed him . Knows this self-seeking Angel( Satan) attacked Joe by destroying his property and then his family .JOB .1-12.. Now IN JOB 2 -4 vs. four see what he says this malicious satan because he would have killed Joe with some infections or illness so God had to put restrictions on this argument so God said you can not take his soul( life) because we know from genesis.3 .19 . adam and Eve , died eventually and this was because of Satan's malicious lies.
Nailit ( 2) Why was Satan cast to Earth in the first place when God had an entire universe in which to banish him? Seems as though BibleGod was setting Adam & Eve up for a fall.

locust this happened when Jesus return to heaven, after his death because it was written( revelation) by apostle john was prisoner on the island of patmos c 96 Revelation 1:1-3 .1.1...2 Jesus gives him a series of visions about the future.

He is not recorded as having killed anyone else in contrast to the millions slaughtered by God.

How could there possibly be a war anyway between a created being and an omnipotent God? Its like saying that I had a war with an ant.

What makes me smile and I know you will ALL ignore my post is....you all assume that this bible.. A.... bible is the truth for this religion. In hundreds of years they will be assuming the Harry Potter books are the truth and that's how people were etc etc.

We have seen 'religions'.... sects if you like, followed by the gullible today....maybe this is the same from all those years ago....
