How come black people say they're proud to be black but when someone else says they're black they take offence? If he's black he's black. What's to be offended about?

It's OK, just thought it best to point out - the phrase has been fired at me before now.

It's non a nice one I agree.

Always makes me think of working below stairs :-)
Perhaps a apology to TTT may not go amiss.?
As I said earlier (12:49 Tue) with a mixture of light ochre, titanium white, and just a touch of quinacridone magenta, I can make a hue which if dabbed on the back of my hand would blend so well with my skin colour that you would not see it.
I am "white" but not white; it's simply a word.
Which is presumably how Tom Elliott saw it too Khandro, maybe he's a artist too?
Years back there was a TV programme called Spearhead, or something similar, about life in a fictional Army regiment. A soldier was in a room overlooking the parade ground and mentioned his mate. He then pointed out of the window at an almost overwhelmingly white line-up and said "That's Jomo Sir, with the curly hair."

It's the only scene from the entire series I can remember, because it was so pointless.
Thanks naomi and lb. ummmm - mind your own business, if that's possible.
You're welcome. :o)
Cloverjo - As advised, it was actually AOG, and I do think it is inappropriate in the context of a debate - but that is not something I would wish to derail this thread with - I do think AOG was a little harsh, but we'll see if he comes back to the thread.
I'll not read the 100+ replies but just ask has everybody in the world forgotten how to shrug and move on?
