My tv wont power up .It seems that capacitors can be the cause - but they can be tricky to diagnose .Can anyone tell if they are faulty from this pic ?https://i.postimg.cc/85Bjztyv/capicitors.jpg

Suggest getting a team team to look at it. If you don't know why you suspect the capacitors little chance of fixing if successfully.
IT !
There’s no I in team, OG. ;-)
...but if you look hard enough I think you'll find there's a "me". (David Brent)
Clearly something decided to change tech to team. Hate bloody tech, 90% of the stress in my life.

Old_Geezer,capacitors are the cheapest low -risk first option - and they are known to cause power issues. After that its replacing the circuit board
The caps in a modern TV power supply are notorious for failure. Back in the day they were as big as a tin of beans and are now miniature. The only external sign is a slight bubble on the tops (they should be dead flat) The two on the right look suspect to me the 100uF ones. But for the sake of a few pence and a few minutes I would change them all after taking the pc board out. If that is a Panasonic TV the caps are nailed on as likely after about 7 years.
BTW do any of you know what those capacitors are for on a modern TV power board? Smoothing.

Togo , its A LG TV. Yes some are are not dead flat
Suspect then. If you have a good soldering iron( not a bleedin great big one) a proper electronic engineers one. Sweat them out carefully and replace them. BE SURE TO REPLACE THEM WITH THE EXACT RATING of the ones that you are exchanging with the same rating in both voltage and rating. Micro farads uF of flor farads pF. The 4 X 1000 uF caps are the likely candidates but I cannot see the voltage rating from the picture. Probably 250v. You will also need a roll of solder to put them back in. Dead easy but not something to go at like a bull at a gate. 22 years electronics engineer Tali1. Great days.
!!!flor farads!!!

That should be reading flor farads. There are also nano farad caps nF.
Haha my word processor keeps changing flor to flor....pF= flor farads
3 TIMES NOW! I type p.i.c.o. (no stops) and the site posts flor. Watch flor Farads
Haha unbelievable. Try capitols. flor FARADS.
Time for new television me thinks, didn't know you could buy capacitors anymore.
Nope won't send P.I.C.O as upper or lower case p.i.c.o. without the stops.
Not a guaranteed diagnosis, but the four 1000 μF ones definitely look swollen, which is the first sign of "capacitor plague".
