This'll be good.
The remains of the tower are needed for evidential purposes for the public inquiry into the disaster.

Demolition, once started, will take 18 months as it's so close to some other buildings
This was published a few months ago. I'm not aware timescales have changed since then

The remains of the tower are required to remain in place, for evidential reasons, until the public enquiry reaches a conclusion. Then it will take around 18 months to complete the demolition because of the proximity of the remains to Kensington Aldridge Academy and a residential estate. So it's unlikely that demolition will be completed before 2022. The site is then expected to be turned into a memorial, rather than re-used for housing.
