Hard to turn a blind eye isn't it, Ric.......it isn't always an inconvenience when an able bodied person uses a disabled person's space but if they're in the habit of doing it there will come a time when it makes things very difficult for the person with a disability.
I no longer need access to a space for disability but in the many years I did it was frustrating to have to drop MrG and his chair and then find a space.
The worst I experienced was returning to my car with a child in a Perthes broomstick splint to find a car with no disabled sticker on the yellow hatches close to the door I needed and not even completely in the disabled person's space.
Laying the child on the pavement so I could get my car far enough out to get him inside made me more than a bit cross.....but hey.....if you don't have experience of needing a disabled person's parking space why give a thought to others who do..... :-)

I agree with west ( o mercy!) mercia

I used to work at a hospital slaving day in and day out to save sick little babies
and we had to park up where we cd
Some humourless householders used to WRITE in wax chalk ( so it goes on glass) "do not park here - police called!"
and one householder came out to reinforce the police HAD BEEN !
and I said: and they warned you that it was criminal damage because the view of the driver was obscured

and he said - yes they did ! why dont you just frack off and leave us in peace?

Buy a wheel clamp and put it on the offending car! Then put a notice on the windscreen saying the removal fee is £50.

At the risk of being jumped on I have parked my car on odd occasions in a pick up point to collect my grandfather who was inside somewhere or other. I'm perfectly young and able bodied and could have been jumped on by anyone but my grandfather is practically Death's twin brother and it takes hours to get him the shortest distance, plus some disabled people have hidden disabilities so probably not the best idea to egg anyone's car unless you've got all the information about why they might have done something x

I'm always intrigued when disabled people take offence and complain bitterly when someone, who thinks they are using a Blue Badge illegally, leaves an abusive note on the windscreen. Shouldn't they be pleased that people are looking out for them, even if they made a mistake on that occasion? A genuinely disabled person, even if they don't appear to be disabled, knows that they are perfectly entitled to use the Badge and are doing no wrong.
