I don't know exactly how you go about getting a contract from failing Grayling, but it doesn't sound difficult. Go for it!

If you don't get the deal he might put you in charge of HS2 anyway.

Welcome news, sunny-dave. I was very pleased until I neared the end of the article and found the usual naysayers sniping about the inconvenience of having to swim across a relatively narrow river. The arrogance of these people, putting dry trousers for themselves above my need for comedy cucumbers from Sierra Leone, and my (red, white and) blue passport, with its 'Proudly Made in France' Union Flag sticker on the back.

That looks ok but I've got the Manchester Ship Canal just few miles from here. Surely that's worth giving my fleet of punts, skiffs and rowing boats the contract? I might make a complaint to the EU Commission regarding the fairness of the decision. Outrageous!
