Does any one know of a facility to prolong ‘time out’ when using free wi fi (Cloud) in a pub. I have to keep searcing for cloud connection if I stop for a minute or so. I appreciate security issues but would like to set I phones setting for longer wi fi time

I think you’d have to open an app which requires WiFi all the time (google maps or a tracker, maybe?) and then your problem would be battery life.

You can reset your personal settings Retro, ie. Settings>General>Auto-Lock>Never. But you will need your charger with you and it plugged in. Then you will need to reset it afterwards. This appears to be a particularly apple "feature" designed to conserve battery life.
