Kidnapping Merle Oberon!

I've just read that during WW2, the Coats Mission led by Coldstream Guards officer Jimmy Coats, and protectors of the royal family, had a scheme to kidnap the actress Merle Oberon! Anyone with any ideas what this had to do with anything at all!!?

Thanks so much for finding that Paul. Very interesting, although I'm still not sure if Merle was aware she was about to be kidnapped! Pretty scary if not.
