Just a reminder that this wonderful film is being shown again tonight (Sat) on BBC 2 at 9:00 pm. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

agree. A remarkable film. The moment when it fills the screen is just stunning.
One of last remaining Battle of Britain pilots died yesterday. Tim Elkington at the grand old age of 98.

I just saw this in the Radio Times. I missed it the first time, and was so disappointed that the BBC didn't have it on iPlayer for the usual 30 days. (Contractual or licencing obligations I believe)
Going to watch this as it comes highly recommended. Will watch Casualty on catch up.
One of the few films that *everyone* should see.
I know I'm being pedantic, but why wasn't it called They Shall Grow Not Old - the first line of the famous words said at Remembrance services?

When it went from small screen grainy black and white, to full screen colour, I had to rewind and watch again, it was incredible.

I found myself pausing it at the end to read all the names and regiments of the men whose voices you hear, and it also made me realise why people wear purple poppies. To my shame, I didn’t really ’get it’ before.

Possibly the most moving thing I have ever seen.
