I'm trying to arrange to do a project abroad, there are advisers both in my university and those abroad. I've been told
a blatant lie before by one of the advisers at my university, so when she was the only one to suddenly tell me that my chosen programme with a foreign university isn't available, I phoned up the other university and asked them to check on that. The foreign adviser is now going to give the info that I requested to that horrible adviser as opposed to to me... I have a feeling that the horrible woman is gonna just ignore it cos she hates being wrong and that's why she lies.
Is that normal that the other adviser won't tell me what I requested??? Should I phone other advisers until someone tells me yes or no?

You could. But I would, when contacting relevant organisations about your project and if it is appropriate, when you communicate with her copy the other organisation as well.

This way you have a copy of communications and so does the body you are hoping to liaises with.

You should of course keep it factual, relevant and respectful. You don’t want to come across as an aggressor or antagonistic. You are just attempting to get proper information to and from the right people. She will either show herself up or start doing the right thing.
