Can anyone explain what is the difference between a "People's Vote" and a "Second Referendum"?

Everyone knows what a referendum is, why invent a new name? Do they think it will make some people vote differently?

Yes, Cameron's entire approach to the leaflet and the vote was dishonest and wrong. But we can't be bound by his lies.
"But we can't be bound by his lies."

It's only a lie if the pledge is not fulfilled. When the Prime Minister posts a leaflet through their door what are voters supposed to assume about its contents?
//It's a complete and utter lie, and a misunderstanding of democracy, to claim that multiple votes on the same issue is somehow an affront to that principle//

It's a complete and utter lie and an affront to democracy to claim that a second referendum will be on the same issue.

Depends on how it's set up, does it not, Naomi? We discussed in detail my proposal, which would have started by asking if the people wanted to leave in a particular way before moving on to Remaining or Leaving (with No Deal, presumably); but, no matter how close that is or not to the actual question asked, it will almost certainly end up with the gist of the 2016 question repeated.
We know how it will be set up. Any way that doesn’t result in leave without a deal.
That's yet to be seen, but even if it is true, I think there has to be at least some respect given to the logic behind keeping No Deal off the table, no? We should be trying to reach an arrangement with the EU as far as possible, and we should be trying *not* to risk our economic future, let alone everyone else's, as far as possible.

If you don't buy that No deal presents any risk, that's a matter for you when and if you get a chance to vote on it. Perhaps your best chance, though, is to start pressing for the very referendum you are resisting, because we should be clear by no that Parliament will not support and will do its utmost to stop any No-Deal exit.

To what should be their absolute shame, that is clear and has been for a very long time.
If there is another referendum, I will never vote again - what would be the point ??? LEAVE WON ...
