I expect the usual suspects will brand me anti-English (again) for this, but I think the Home Office have behaved disgracefully in this case. Compassionate Conservativism at work.

That makes distressing reading (yes, I know we only have that article to go on ) but such a connected and caring family and they tell the Daughter (a Nurse) to give up work and claim benefits) - seems very cack handed to me.
Seems like there’s no decision yet.
Hope for a good outcome.
The article is certainly written to pull on the heartstrings. 25/02/19 is D Day.
//I expect the usual suspects will brand me anti-English //

Why would they do that? It is happening in Scotland.
Good point Togo.
I am sure I heard they've been allowed to stay. Cannot think where I heard it.
Does Scotland have a separate Home Office, making the decisions?
I don't know about you, Canary, but the Hme Office is definitely anti-English. A swamp out of the control of and left to fester by its previous two notional chiefs. Let's hope Javid can do better dealing with the illiberal bureaucracy which has been running the show for the last few decades.

You'll notice from the wedding photographs that the couple are probably Christian or Baha'i, which means being sent "back" to the mullahs is even more than usually cruel.
I'm pretty sure that Scotland, Wales, and N. Ireland have their own internal affairs offices that deal with such things, unlike England...…..Yet.
Scotland may have its own 'internal affairs' department, but Immigration is a 'reserved' matter and Westminster is responsible.
Apparently there is a petition on change.org and thousands have already signed it.
In this instance, this couple should definitely be allowed to stay. Makes me laugh when I think of the scum we should get rid off, yet don't !
They should be allowed to remain if only on humanitarian grounds.
They are the grandparents of Scotland and Edinburgh Rugby player Damien Holyland

Hopefully they get to stay
Holyland lol spellcheck
Damien Hoyland
Common sense within the establishment is at a premium.
