Hi
Could anyone advise me where I can buy these bulbs that were introduced years ago as the old type bulbs were to be outlawed. I have had them since around 2005 and mine are failing. It is understandable as the life expectancy is around ten years. I have been on the websites of Wilko's, Home Bargains, Argos, Poundstretcher and other large stores. The only place I have seen them is on Amazon. I require the bayonet fitting type.
Thanks in anticipation.

They are available in any decent supermarket, Morrison's, Sainsbury's &c.
Why not go for LEDs?

If you live in the Reading area, I've got a bagful you're welcome to; I've swapped all mine for LEDs.

Thanks for all answers. I never even thought about Sainsbury's and as I live in Hull (in Yorkshire) I am a fair bit away from Reading. A great offer though.
Most people now go for LEDs rather than CFLs.....so much better.
I'd visit Home Bargains. They are really cheap for these type of bulbs.

LED's are not very bright. I'm sure they soon will be.
Mine are and at 35 watts each have a really bright room
LEDs are not very bright....wrong. Look at the light output (in lumens) and you'll see they can be as bright as you need.
Works ok for me 6 down lights using same power as two 60 watt lightbulbs
