jno, I haven’t seen anyone ‘demand’ that Corbyn has a seat at the table. Along with leaders of other parties, he’s received an invitation which he’s arrogantly rejected simply because one of the options up for discussion doesn’t suit him - or so he says.
J C has refused this invitation because he has realised that the public will finally discover he has nothing to offer.
^Indeed. As I said, 'so he says'.
" nothing to offer " .....no point in attending any meeting with T M .
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't - no win situation for JC.
maggiebee, had he accepted the invitation as he should have done, he wouldn't have met with such criticism. As it is, he is the author of his own misfortune. Silly man.
Yep. Keep knocking Cornyn, take the pressure off May ., Basic tactic, but carry on for another 12 hours Naomi . Enjoy .:-)
anneasquith, you really should try to stop reading my posts selectively. It gives the impression that you have an unassailable problem.
I have a problem ? Ok doki.
I wish you a speedy recovery.
//As it is, he is the author of his own misfortune.//

as he has been in the past. on the matter of accepting the international definition of anti-Semitism, what he should have done is, up front, said "we're not adopting it, and this is why...". instead, "statesman" that he is, he sat on his hands and allowed conspiracists to run away with it, with the result that he ended up in a very deep hole - essentially of his own making.
Perhaps he should have accepted the invitation to attend then issued a statement saying "I was present but not taking part in the proceedings. Seemed to work last time.
Mrs May has told Mr Corbyn that it is not within the government’s power to rule out a No Deal. Mr Corbyn has, nevertheless, instructed his MPs not to "engage" with senior ministers until the prime minister takes the threat of leaving without an agreement off the table. Fortunately some of them have more sense than him. Chuka Umunna for one, has vowed to carry on engaging with the government because Brexit is "above party politics". I can only conclude that Mr Corbyn, with his puerile ignorance, is best out of it. The meeting should accept his refusal with a sigh of relief.

you cannot rule out the status quo, simples
Corbyn's stance puts me in mind of Pontius Pilate, washing his hands of the whole business.
// Brexit is "above party politics". \\

Damn right it is. I want to knock all their wretched heads together.
