I've been trying to glue a curtain rail to a plastic backboard. Using loctite 60 second all-purpose glue. I have managed to get it all over my fingers and it won't stick the silly thing together anyway. It's urgent as I need the curtains up for tonight and I want clean hands. Any help, please (particularly for the fingers)?

I've always found taking the top layer of skin off your fingers is the easiest solution, or clipping away at the dried glue with nail clippers.
Rub Fairy Liquid into glue then soak in warm water. You can only peel it off it will never dissolve.
If there is not too much glue wait until it dries and file it off with an emery board or a rough nail file.
Superglue on fingers is so annoying.
Have you a helpful neighbour to help put your curtains up?
In my experience superglue sticks nothing together other than skin!

Thank you everyone. Memo to self - wear gloves next time! I've tried soaking in water and it has helped a bit, enough to give me confidence to try again when I have more time this evening. Will try emery board/tweezers/ nail varnish remover tomorrow if that doesn't work. Re helpful neighbour -they're all much the same age as me, and I wouldn't want to be responsible for someone falling off a stool. For the moment I've just put up three curtains, and will contact our local 'no rogue traders here' to find someone after the weekend (why do these things always happen at weekends?)
first rule of DIY is don't do it when the DIY shops are shut :)
That Loctite glue is NOT superglue. It's all-purpose glue, so the advice for removing super-glue won't be applicable.
