Not sure if this is the right place to put this but my Mother has become a Christian and is having a baptism, although I do not agree with this I would like to buy her a 'special' bible as a congratulations. I have tried Google but just keep getting plain old boring looking ones. Any one know where I can look?

Your best bet would be to go to your nearest Christian Bookshop where you will be able to look at masses of different Bibles and to choose one that looks right. It's a lovely idea but unless your Mum has specified a particular translation I would suggest the NIV - and try and be happy for her as this is an exciting time in her life!
Many Christian religions have a "preferred" Bible. What about birthstone prayer beads or crucifix jewellery? Does she have a Saint's name - maybe something to do with that
You can find a massive range of Bibles at www.wesleyowen.com. You will probably be able to also find the nearest branch near you from that site and have someone advise you on an appropriate one face to face. It might also be useful to go to www.ucb.org.uk and click on the link for 'The Word For Today' where you can request a free easy going guide for reading the Bible.
If you're after something a bit special most cathedral bookshops stock a wide range of high quality bibles, including calf-leather bound ones with gilt edged vellum pages (if you fancy spending some real money).
