I thought for a change that you might like to help with an on-going project of mine, to bring back log tables and slide rules. But on the former, I'm not sure what kind of logs I should use to make the tables; and on the latter, the only rule I can think of is that 'Slides are only for the use of children under the age of 14'. Any suggestions?

Mmmmmm, hate to see a fellow scientist struggle. I would possible choose a good cherry or olive wood for the logs, and on the other note of the slide rules, you have me gaffawing so much I fear I am unable to contribute much constructive help there. As the Great Hawkings put in his essay " when creasing yourself interferes with thought" ..... -T=C2x(-0) where T=thought and C=Creasing yourself, as this complicated equation shows thought decreases when creasing increases. On a lighter note why not just uses "rulers" rather than the metamorphic(and harder to comeby) slide ruler. Rulers at this point in the world economy appear to be 10 a penny. Remember though some of these folk are important so any breakages must be paid for. Let me know how you get on. ;-))
