Have you used the So-Called Airport Parking, Did you Note Down your Mileage when you parked up, or had your car taken away by their rep? did you check your car for damage on your return?

Had used the same off Airport parking a few times. Leaving the keys with them to enable shuffling of the cars. Untill I came back once there was mud caked up well over the tyres and mud in the drivers footwell and peddles. Have never used them since.

/Or had their car taken away by their rep/
Meaning its a possible action
I had no difficulty understanding the question!
In fact I have no difficulty understanding anything that is currently going on!!!!!
Yes, only use Official Airport parking on airport grounds, park up, short walk to terminal building.

Mileage read and tattoed on the old noggin.

I usually park it as near to the terminal building at the airport my flights departing from, so no.

Yes, always check around car, and so far over the years, no damage found.

Use the service so much, particularly at Gatwick, I'm on first name terms with most of the excellent staff there around the car parks, and in the offices.....they must send me at least 3 e-mails a week offering handsome discounts throughout the year. :-)

Gness xxx I'm use to it so don't let it worry you, which I don't think it does lol
glad you are back - i wanted to ask you what is "so-called" airport parking. Is that airport parking?
here's a typical incident from earlier this week:-
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/5249240/car-park-handed-keys-to-motor-to-stranger/
the press is not short of reports of owners returning to their cars and finding blown-up engines, major collision damage or traffic violation tickets. but these sharks seem to be above the law.
Not in the least, TWR...... :-)

Bednobs......there are different types of airport parking.....on site airport parking where your car stays where you park till you return...
Off site airport parking.....you drop your car and keys to an off site company and they bus you to the airport and collect you....they keep your keys.....
You can drive close to your departure gate and a rep from a company will meet you....take your car away....and return it to the same place on your arrival back....this, I think, is meet and greet airport parking....you fly off and one way or another your car is parked for you......

TWR was obviously referring to the many bad reports about what can really happen to your car when you use any airport parking except my first example....
Your car is.....so called parked for the duration of your holiday.........or is it?.... :-)
Hope this helps...x

As Gness has explained Beds, there has been issues regards parking at Liverpool, Man & a few others, there has been mileage added to cars, damage to cars, there was a case a while ago of an engine replacement, yes an engine removed & replaced, that is not so hard to believe when a company you trust has your Keys, everyone has their own way to tell if the car has been used other than the mileage, I have mine.
All the more reason to lash an extra pound a day and keep your car keys in your pocket.

Buy cheap buy twice.
I park my car at airport car park... then get shuttle to airport departure bit...I would never give a stranger my keys to park my car!!
^ We are the same and only ever use airport long-stay, would never use any system when you don't keep your keys. It's not the cheapest though.
Interesting prudie/eccles - whilst I agree that I'd never use an 'off airport' company who required my keys, I will routinely use Stansted's Airport's own "drop at the terminal" service.

If I park my own car then I'm going to pick up the tab if some idiot prangs it whilst it's parked - by far the most likely scenario for airport damage.

But if it's parked by the airport staff then they are responsible for any/all damage - however it's caused. They photograph the car & confirm the odometer on drop-off, so there's never any problem with unauthorised use.

It has often cost me less to use this (and get priority security check passes) than parking my own vehicle - admittedly at off-peak times.
