During this hot weather I have noticed an increase in the number of pregnant mums showing off their swelling bellies for all and sundry to see. Am I behind the times when I consider that even though the proud future mums and their partners may think this is acceptable and an extension of the women's femininity, they should not expect everyone to share their view (excuse the pun). I do not relish the thought of a bare bellie rubbing against the lower shelves of fruit etc whilst the lady reaches for a higher product on the supermarket shelves. Before any of the feminists say "what about the Male beer bellies" yes I agree, no Male stripped to the waist should be allowed into a store, beer belly or not. Oh and why we are on the subject of beer bellies this is now not a male exclusive, the only trouble is some females store it on their hips also.

i was 9 months pregnant last July and it wasnt as hot as this but i was desperate to get air to my skin.
Over bump trousers or dungerees are great for keeping a bump hidden but awful for keeping you cool.
I wouldnt display my bump but i can see why, in this heat women find under bump clothes that will show a bit of flesh.
Its hot for petes sake, what else can they do??

There are plenty of very loose fitting garments made of thin cotton that are specially designed for pregnant mums, one doesn't have to wear trousers or dungerees. Yes it is hot but we don't all walk about half naked, wear appropriate clothes.
omg, what about girls who havent got a tummy and wear midriff bearing clothes, bet you wouldnt complain about that, personally i am not a bump barer unless i am at home, but this is the 21st century
oh dear. Its a matter of personal choice surely. What is wrong with showing off a bump, its a natural and beautiful thing.
Regardless of what clothes are available (and no, cotton long tops didnt even cover my bump so i still needed thick over bump trousers or dungers) why should they have to cover it up.?
My youngest daughter was born in September, admittedly a good few years ago, but I don't remember being so hot that I would want my bulge showing for all the world to see. I think the problem is that the women these days don't wear proper maternity clothes and that's why they are not so loose or cool.
women should be free to wear whatever clothes they see fit whenever they see fit to. If a non pregnant midirff is ok then a pregnant one should be too, what a weird thing to get upset about? People handle your fruit with their hands and they needn't have washed them after they went to the loo, so I think the last of anyone's problems are a pregnant belly accidentally brushing your pears.Lol.
Just wash your fruit!
Generally the women who do show them off is a nice tidy beautiful bumo and lovely to look at. I dont care cause I wash my fruit and veg when it gets home anyway, I am sure there bumo has less germs on it than someones dirty unwashed after going to the loo hands.

Oldgit...if this all you have to worry about in your day, you are having a brilliant life and I hope it continues to be that way for you.
should read bump not bumo...obviously/
I'm 6 mths pregnant and although I'm finding the heat a little too much to cope with I still wouldn't have my stomach showing but that's because I'm not the type of person to have much on show regardless of being pregnant or not!
i've always hated seeing bumps on show.having just been pregnant tho u realise not always that easy to keep covered. even when wearing maternity tops was always having to pull them down.bump was always trying for freedom!!!!
same here, i am 7 and a half months pregnant now and bump is ever expanding, it doesnt help that she is engaged so my bump is quite low, and i am forever pulling trousers up and bottoms down!
If i had a nice enough bump maybe i would be a bump barer!
I say lucky gits for being able to go out in this heat!!! Im 6months pregnant and after 5 minutes its too much for me, so if showing their bellies lets them go out then good on them.. :o)
Jenarry and Boobesque - you should both change your respective tailor or outfitter. If they are unable to make trousers that fit properly and stay up or tops that fit properly and stay down they do not deserve your custom.

I suspect that like most clothing manufacturers these days they only produce their goods in one or two sizes. Hence we see people walking around in garments which clearly do not fit, but which the manufacturers have conned them into thinking are fashionable.
tailor or outfitter..what!!?! just outa interest have you ever been pregnant? 1st few months was able to get away with ordinary clothes then only bought high street maternity wear being very careful that whatever i bought looked ok and covered me . i worked full time til 8 months and i found especially at work where moving about and bending down/stretching up etc maternity trousers where ok but the tops always had habit of riding up.
My comments were made with tongue-in-cheek, Jenarry. I try to resist this nasty habit but I'm often prone to weaken when I see questions about which I have no idea and which I should really ignore. Didn't mean to wind you up - honest !!!
ok.ur forgiven.bein bit sensitive there hey.it was a real nightmare keeping ever increasing belly covered.i'm obviously still getting over it!
