Drones are no more than the latest form of radio control model aircraft, which have been legal for as long as I can remember. I even had one back in the 1970s.
Who needs a gun? A farmer for a start , foxes need to be shot before they kill their chickens /pheasants etc.
Shooting is one of the most important and closely contested of all Olympic sports.

It may seem incredible, but someone willing to commit an offence which carries a lengthy custodial sentence (such as killing someone with a gun or endangering an aircraft with a drone) will not worry about failing to get a licence for said gun or drone (likely penalty a small fine).
As a matter of interest, what is the average price of these drones?
Jack it has been determined that it was an industrial type drone so this may be a guide(sorry the prices are in dollars)

Considering the cost, running into millions of pounds and the misery caused, offering a reward for information leading to an arrest of the culprit(s) of say £10,000 would be a small price to pay, and somebody out there knows who it was or has sufficient suspicion.
My eldest (39) has bought his brother (37) one for Christmas. Ok so it’s only about six inches across but I’m worried about the havoc it will cause in the house on Christmas Day!
