Flat Screen Monitor - VGA/DVI

We've just got a new flat screen and I'm reading the instruction manual and it's telling me to choose between VGA and DVI-D signal input connector. Can someone possibly explain it to me in idiots terms...had a look on the internet but all the stuff there seems to have gone way over my head! Thanks - Sam

The DVI-D is a later fitting, not found on all computers, the VGA is the older type, either one will work fine, basically if the plug fits in the socket, its the right one. sorry I cant be any more technical.

DVI-D is higher quality (Digital Video Interface).
Unless you have a high spec and newish machine, you more than likely have VGA connections.
