Only in that I love Petanque, Atheist....
We spent lots of time in France where we came to love the sport....our large garden in the UK let us play often.
I now have a garden that slopes.....that makes it much more difficult but we have got to know the neighbours at the bottom of the slope......... :-)

Yes very skilful and depends on what surface you play it on. Tradionally on gravel in France.

Beautiful game for all the family. Beginners are always welcome and can play without much expense; no need for much kit. Sad that the English don't know this wonderful sport. French democracy at its best.

We have a petanque club with its own 'piste', next to the cricket club in our village. Its very popular.

Absolutely love it, have a set that I keep in the boot of the car for trips to the beach etc.
When holidaying in France I love nothing more than popping into the local village to watch the evening tournaments.
