Mince Pies?

Does anyone apart from me make their own pastry and mincemeat these days? The only shop-bought mince pies I've been offered are truly awful.

My Mum did when we were little. And her own sausage rolls. My nan made the cake.

Iceland mince pies are good.
Whilst nothing beats homemade, I find shop ones pleasant enough.
I will this year, two sorts butter puff and bakewell topped. Any left over mincemeat will go into icecream
Yes Mincee pies,Shortbread ,Christmas pudding ,Dundee cake ,brandy butter kept up my Mothers tradition .I am 78 and still enjoy doing it . Family mixing bowl has been passed down from early 1900 for stirring the pudding.Youngest Daughter has promised to take over even the recipe dates back to 1942 an Atora suet one my Mum kept . So fragile I gave re typed it .
Delia Smith's mincemeat recipe - with or without cranberries. Tangy, fruity and not sickly sweet.
