Retro, agree with you about Glenn Miller.
Ted Heath was my favourite, with singers Dickie Valentine, Lita Roza and Dennis Lotis.

Now they were real bands, before the days of electronic instruments.
Maybe not bands but I missed out on the stage version of Hunting of the Snark and War of the Worlds - original cast. There always seemed to be some reason I couldnt go.

War of the Worlds i think is coming back onto the stage, not sure where but think its in London..
Thanks Emmie but the current cast dont seem to have the voice quality of Justin Hayward et al.

I can fully appreciate your preference for big bands, as opposed to electrically accompanied pop groups, but to suggest that one is better than the other is like comparing apples and oranges.

Both combos make music, simply differently, and that does not mean that one is inherently superior to the other - simply that it is different, and amen to that.
1986 saw queen ..status quo...inxs...the alarm at the old wembley stadium right down the front ...what a great day
On a very sad note august 1990 was going to see stevie ray vaughan who died tragically the day before i was going to see him :-((
