I was wondering if anyone has any hints and tips for cheap postage options for worldwide deliveries.
We have started an online shop and have wanted to offer worldwide instead of solely UK sales.
we are posting cube shaped boxes up to 42cm x 42cm x 42cm and weighing around the 2kg mark.
I notice when i purchase items from other countries for our product that many are offering ridiculously low or non-existent charges for postage from china america etc.
How are they doing this?
We would love to take advantage of low postal rates allowing us to expand into the worldwide market, however UK postal charges seem to the US and many other countries cost more than our products in many cases just for basic costs. Start adding any form of signed for or insurance extras and it becomes unprofitable.
Any hints and tips welcomed.

The best rates for sending parcels are usually obtained by going through brokers. The most popular service for domestic parcels among members here seems to be this one:
https://www.parcel2go.com/
(I use it myself)

For international parcels though this is one of the leading players:
https://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk/

Also check out this service

and this one

If you're operating as a trader it might be best to consider forgetting about insurance services anyway. The occasional cost of having to refund a customer for an item that gets lost or damaged in transit is likely to be far lower than the aggregate costs of adding insurance cover onto all of your consignments.
