Two weeks ago I went to Fuerteventura for a 10 day holiday with family. Had a fab time. On flight home, for reasons unknown still, I collapsed with a massive seizure. Turned blue and stopped breathing. They thought I was dead. Luckily apart from cabin crew there were two off duty nurses as passengers, plus an off duty policeman who all dived to the rescue. Oxygen, defibrillator, ..... they were 5 mins off diverting entire flight to Paris. Ambulance met plane at Gatwick and rushed me to hospital. Long story short - they have absolutely no idea what and why it happened but it’s certainly made me re evaluate life these past few days. So live life to the full as you really don’t know what’s around the corner x

That must have been quite terrifying for your family to experience. Lucky that you were in a place where there was first aid trained people plus the police officer and nurses.

I hope they find out what caused it.
You don't do things by halves, Smow.......that was scary...hope you get answers soon and it was just a blip never to happen again...x
Glad you came through it, Smow, and hopefully the experts will find out what caused it and take measures to prevent it re-occurring. However, i am interested to know what it was that actually 'terrified' you. Was it the fear of dying? Or something else. I only ask because when i had my heart attack in '09, i don't recall being scared in any way. I didn't actually lose consciousness until i was at the hospital, so i guess i was in the right place. But the feeling i recall most was not having had the chance to say goodbye to my 4 children.
vey scary, smow. Glad you came through okay and I hope they can diagnose it.

I was scared because I was being told of an event that had happened which I had no memory of. Just surreal.
Okay, Smow. Thanks for replying. Mind you, i used to experience the very same thing on a regular basis. Mind you, i was a bit of an alcoholic then so it's understandable :-)
So glad you are ok smow. Is there Amy chance this is connected to your sudden memory loss last month? I remember your concern about that.

Take care Smow, everything crossed they find out what is going on.
also a few years ago you had an "episode" didnt you? perhaps related?
bednobs/pastafreak.....excellent points, also some time ago you had a 24 hour holster ECG of which the results remain unknown.
I would have thought that the first port of call would be Cardiologist, rather than a neurologist.
hope you are feeling better, agree with sqad a cardiologist would be my next port of call.
That's an extreme way of avoiding customs and the luggage carousel, Smow!

Take care.
LOL @ Tills ^^^
So glad ur OK Smow :-)
What a frightening experience for you. Hope the medics get to the cause of this episode and get it treated pronto...

Take it easy Smow and as you say live your best life x
What a scare for you, glad you are alright.

Something like that must make you think about what you are doing with your life.
Gosh, Smow, that must have been so scary. You've had a lot of stress over the last couple of years, haven't you? So I thinks it's time to look after yourself.
