I disagree - she was dropped into it because Cameron chickened out and probably got the best deal out of those greedy budgers that could be had.
agree with that, CAC. All the other possibles seem much worse, including Brexit secretaries who didn't realise there's a lot of trade crossing the channel, that EU countries can't strike their own trade deals, and so on. The depth of incompetence on the Tory benches is depressing - knives in their hands and not a brain cell in their heads.
If the best possible deal was worse than no deal (and on analysis that becomes clear) why did she agree to it ? And support/push it ? That's on her own head. No excuses/justifications.
Yes
maybe because she knows that not pushing it through or voting against it is electoral suicide for any MP who doesnt support it. 17.4 million angry people can consign a lot of MPs to the jobless queue.
I think she should but there’s no getting away from the fact that although no one but her henchmen agree with her she is determined to change minds so will battle on regardless until the bitter end and the knives are truely out.

I think the EU has something up their sleeve to ‘sweeten the pot’ and if/when the deal is rejected will suddenly find some inconsequential non something to ‘back down on’ and so appear to be ever so helpful and good.

Of course the screamers will lap it up and the hard of thinking will sigh a sigh of relief and all will be right with the world.

Steven Woolfe MEP should be the person to grill her on the debate.
I hope she doesn't resign because better the devil you know and I don't see anyone else capable of getting us anything else but if her deal,as seems likely,is voted down
then she will almost certainly have to resign.
Asking an MEP to grille her is not exactly impartial - he has a vested interest in keeping his own gravy train going.
Economically speaking, at least, No deal is -- and always was -- the worst of all possible outcomes. Politically speaking, this deal was probably about as good as could be got, because -- again, I don't see why this is ever controversial -- leaving the EU is difficult. One has to undo 40 years' worth of integration, and that simply cannot happen without some difficulty and some concession to the EU in order to smooth over the process.
She should jump, or be pushed anyway, due to her massive incompetence, as James Delingpole has written (and I have posted on another thread) The sooner she goes, the sooner a better leader can be found and alternative options can be started. J.D. said;

'Lord North is often held to be Britain’s worst ever prime minister because he was the one that lost America.
But I really think this claim does the current incumbent a terrible disservice. Lord North, after all, has been vindicated by history: Britain and America have thrived since their divorce. No one, though, is ever going to be able to view Theresa May kindly with hindsight, no matter how many aeons pass.

Theresa May is without question the worst prime minister in British history.

Sure there have been more insidiously evil ones (Tony Blair), more grotesquely overrated ones (Clement Atlee), more corrupt ones (Harold Wilson), more downright useless squishy ones (Ted Heath), more ineffectual ones (Dave).

No one, though, has been more perfect at doing the wrong thing every single time without fail than Theresa May. And no single person bears more responsibility for the excruciatingly rubbish Brexit strategy.'

It seems a bold statement to say that May will never be vindicated by history...
^^ Are liars ever vindicated?
rarely ^^
Pushing it through or voting for it will be electoral suicide for most MPs. It has little public support from either remainers or leavers. It' will be seen as betrayal of the country by at least one half, probably both.
