Had a call from 0121 318 9938 that left a voicemail. Supposedly off HMRC to ring back. They don’t usually ring do they TIA

No. Be careful this might be a scam.
It's a known fraud and has been reported.
HMRC do not phone people.
Just put the number into Google - it's a scam.
As far as i am aware. HMRC will only contact you via post.

HMRC do not ring, text or email. The only way they get in touch is by post. I'll bet anything this is a scam. I had a call a few weeks ago saying there was a warrant out for my arrest for tax evasion. All complete nonsense but could well frighten an older or vulnerable person. You could report it but I'm not sure anything would be followed up

Sadly, these days a very large percentage of telephone calls and e-mails are bogus. Be very careful (this one's obviously a scam).

If you ring HMRC, use the number off their website, not any left on Voicemail.

I have a tax letter with 0300 200 3310 but that may just be the Self-assessment folk.
