I have had to go private again, but I have received a date to have my very large and painful umbilical hernia removed.

Looks like it could of been an interesting post. Why won't the NHS carry out the procedure?

Well OK then depends how life threatening the.procedures are.
I received a date in February 19 for a colonoscopy.I received my Picolax pack 2 days ago. Not a great wait in the scheme of things. 3 yearly check on my colon cancer op.
That's bad retro :(
I was surprised to get an appointment for Dec 6th after a consultation over a month ago for a procedure, it's public health system so the speed of the appointment left me gobsmacked. Happy but hate having to travel to Dublin, has to be done though

Luckily I pay a small subscription through my salary to a private health company, they will only cover you if the nhs wait is excessive, I knew it would be quicker but I didn’t expect it to be this quick.
Thanks all
Best of luck RR xx
A friend of mine had a hernia op 4 weeks ago and he's back at work now, although on light duties. Don't know what type of hernia though.
