Don't like it, not a fan of EJ, so this was a non starter from the word go for me :-(

Well, no idea what the connection was between Elton's "Your Song" and John Lewis. Maybe connection isn't necessary in marketing these days. As for Elton, since we're commenting, his earlier stuff was good, his later stuff pretty variable. I like "Your Song" a lot, even though some of the lyrics seem as if Bernie was desperate to think of something that fit.

Well over hyped, I do like some of Eltons' songs but wouldn't have a clue what that was advertising.

Well put together as an ad for his final tour though.

I prefer the one that has been released online by evan youtuberuk. He does one every year and he has come up with a lovely one this year. Much better than the real one.

Instead of paying an already multi millionaire another £5 million pocket money I would have preferred they give the money to charities and show them giving homeless people John Lewis sleeping bags,torches and food.

I agree AL. I liked the sentiment when I first saw the JL ad...that was before I knew they'd forked out 5mil to Elton John's bank account.
