did anyone watch in regards Universal Credit. It was a rather eye opening piece where some people have been left without any back up, seems the
Universal Credit programme still needs a lot of work.

Question Author
surprising that no one seems to have watched this.
I watched it, it was rushed in in some areas - Flintshire for example and the hitches cause long lasting knock on effects.

No one simple reason for them, a combination of things as we saw, but some very sad results.
Question Author
some sad and bad results, i wonder if that is what my assessment is for, to put me on Universal Credit, if so it;s not fit for purpose yet.
I watched. What some are being put through is both heart breaking and almost immoral.
Question Author
is it right that the idea is to pay housing benefit direct to the tenant, i didn't know if that was what was the direct problem.
That has been a big art of the problem , yes - it's nowhere near as easy for people to get their benefit paid direct to their landlord.

As some stated in the programme that's what would have helped them greatly.
Question Author
some like the guy with the baby was horrible, in so far as his story was truly awful. I don't like this idea of paying the monies direct to the tenant, that smacks of idiocy.
Question Author
because like the poor guy who had accrued 4,000 grand debt, and was about to be evicted, there seemed such a sense of outrage that someone had not intervened on his behalf.
the idea is to pay direct to the tenant and he can develop budgeting skills
about 50% havent before they are evicted for arrears.

when you transfer from one benefit to the other - you dont get paid for 2 months and this is not made up - so you start off with 2 months arrears and debts - -
Question Author
not a good system for those who aren't used to budgeting.
