Dashing away with the smoothing iron today I listened to a documentary about the history of Woman's Weekly.

Adverts from long ago were discussed...mainly the one for La-Mar Reducing Soap....it really tickled me especially when I imagined Dave getting out of the shower and announcing .....

I've just tried that new soap of your ......AND!!!!!!!! :-)

Can't do a link on this gadget so perhaps Dave will if he's around....or anyone?

And is anyone old enough to have tried this soap?.... ;-)

I might try that. It's that or Fairy. Which is meant to remove fat.
Yes and grand children and it's coming up to Christmas !.
I wonder if Hedy Lamarr used this soap as she has sort of faded away. Did you know that she was an inventor as well as an actress?
La - Mar and Camay, Meh both no where near as good as Swarfega ;-)

"At the beginning of World War II, she and composer George Antheil developed a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes that used spread spectrum and frequency hopping technology to defeat the threat of jamming by the Axis powers.[5] Although the US Navy did not adopt the technology until the 1960s,[6] the principles of their work are incorporated into Bluetooth technology and are similar to methods used in legacy versions of CDMA and Wi-Fi.[7][8][9] This work led to their induction into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2014.[5][10]"
