Travel To And From Work

We work for a large international company as mobile reactive engineers, there is a bit of a spat going at the moment as we are being told that we are expected to travel 1 hour to and from work in our own time. Is this correct, I was under the impression that it was half an hour each way so 1 hour in total per day.

so you have been working like a dog for ten years and then what came up ? Some just raised their head and asked - do we have do that?

NHS reimburses for travel but into and out of work - is from taxed income ( ie the gross is taxable) and in between sites is non taxed.

Peoplr in London get paid more but in taking a job - you take into account travelling times. I did this in 1980

so if your employer has said - head office is A oops now it is B fifty miles away - then there are special rules for that
which are different to Flonska's rules about driving to and fro A
