Either Kindle Fire HD 8, or Kindle Fire 7...does anyone have one of these? How do you rate them?
I currently have a Nexus 7, 2012 that I've used as back up when my Samsung is charging. But it's dying...constantly crashing...so I'm looking for a replacement.

no they are websites
Which I have downloaded on my Kindle.
yes, and?
are we talking at cross purposes here?
i am talking of apps not websites.
Someone on here did once tell me how to modify the OS so you could download android apps but i lost it (and didnt really want to modify it)
Danny - all you have to do to get to those sites is type the address in. It doesn't need to be an app.

Can anyone tell me if eBay is available on the Fire?
yes, just type it in the search box.
Everything is available if you have internet connection. It's just like a mini laptop.
You can do swipe typing on it as well.
It's very useful, and really cheap for what it can do.

So obviously I can search for eBay...but is there an app? Sorry for Q's.
you can get most apps from amazon, there was just two particular ones i wanted i couldn't get as they were android/ios only
and yes you can get ebay app
My Kindle Fire, quite an early one, is far quicker than the laptop for accessing t'internet, we use it when travelling in the US for maps, pages of screen shots, don't want to waste money using the phone. I've had a problem recently however downloading books, it's asking me to download an app but then I can't find it or use it!

Spent a lot of time researching yesterday...and still dithering over which I want. Typically it takes ages for me to decide.
Kindle 10 has inbuilt Alexa.

So do the two I'm asking about.
Amazon will add to the Paperwhite next. ;-)
I have moved this thread into the category "Technology".
I wouldn't buy a Kindle for two reasons:
Can't download ebooks from public libraries
Can't install some apps that are important to me because they are not available on the Amazon App store and even sideloading doesn't work.

If you only buy ebooks from Amazon and all the apps you want are in the Amazon app store they are a good buy
