Driverless cars, absolutely and totally stupid. Would anyone with an ounce of sense get into one at 70 mph on the M1.
No. I can't run that fast. :-)

that's actually likely to be the first place you'll find them, since as "special roads" the legislation already exists for motorways to be further limited (in the future) to vehicles which are equipped for autonomous operation.
January, snowing, driving at night, sub-zero temperatures, headlights full on, heating full on, wipers at full speed, plus the driving. All on the battery? Hmmmm!
Khandro - I dont understand your post. Modern alternators cope with anything you can throw at them, unlike the dynamos of old which had a 23amp output limit. What are you saying?
Yes.
Got now't to do with one org going with the cheapest alternative, there's even political parties that advocate that.

the last one killed a pedestrian Tony. I'd like to be in on the meeting where they show me a) the code that made the error and b) their fix. What changes have they made? Can you imagine millions of them? Carnage.
Question Authorthe last one killed a pedestrian Tony.

I know it did, the human in the car was streaming a film on her phone and the Volvo automatic braking system had been disabled when the accident occurred for some reason !.
It's all a waste of money.

It's not going to happen.

If it ever did, it wouldn't take long for the BMW and minicab drivers to work out how to make a driverless car stop and let them through.

" know it did, the human in the car was streaming a film on her phone and the Volvo automatic braking system had been disabled when the accident occurred for some reason !. " - that's the whole point none of that should matter, it's driverless, not Driverless except for the geezer sitting there in case our software is carp.
bhg; // I dont understand your post. Modern alternators cope with anything you can throw at them,//

Yes, I take it this post is then about about driver-less cars with petrol engines. I'm referring above to electric driven cars, sorry.
Thanks Khandro.
It's only driverless without human ability to take over after all testing is done and proven as safe as human drivers. One can not legitimately complain that all's not already perfect during development.
