KIL-o-meter would make most sense as it matches the way we pronounce CENT-i-metre NAN-o-metre and other units of length. The pronunciation *-OM-eter is usually reserved for measuring devices like therMOMeter etc.

According to Chambers, either is acceptable.
I think the answer is in the actual spelling.
Any way you fancy.
Oxford Dictionaries say either "kill oh meater" or "kill om itter"
