Was woken by a phone call this morning at 4:30 by a phone call from my sons GF to say that he had taken an overdose while staying at her mums house overnight. He's been acting a bit bizarre for the past few weeks including threatening to jump out of my high rise flat window (only found this out a couple of night ago). Last I heard he hadn't yet been seen by anyone in hospital.

As you all know, ive had my own share of mental 'episodes' but my own father once tried to take his life and suffered with depression and one of my sisters has spent time in a psych ward.

I don't know where any of this will all end.
Why does stuff like this seem to run in families?
Apologies if I sound a bit incoherent, Im tired and confused and maybe need to offload a bit.
Thanks.

son cant smoke in hossie. Son mad as I had removed bath to fit wet room in my flat he lives in....for free coz he smoked the agreed rent instead. Then I got it for driving my late OH to alcoholism etc etc
So he took out all his frustration, pain and anger on you. That is difficult to cope with. I hope you do get your apology.
A nurse came in and he was so nice to her while she took blood & when she left he carried on & on shouting down the phone.
So sorry to hear this Nailit. I tend to believe it's a combination of factors that all come together to wreck havoc on those who are vulnerable. Don't blame yourself, and I hope your son gets the help he needs.
Tambo, I'm not sure refusing to see your son until he apologizes is the best move. He was at a low point and hit out at the only person he could. Better to keep seeing him and keep communication open.
I hope your son can be seen by someone who can help get to the bottom of his mental issues. Worrying time for you Nailit. Please try and stay strong. x

Thanks for all replies. Son was discharged at 3 this afternoon. Managed to speak to him half hour ago but he didn't want to say much. Just hope he's had a referral to mental health or something.
Thanks again for replies all.

I can't give you any advise Nailit, just wish you and your son the best. I hope it all works out.
