I cleaned out my deep fay fryer today and got rid of old oil,I put it into a plastic bottle.what bin does it go into?
plastic and cardboard -or-garden and food bin,i am waiting for you to tell me so I can bin this,thanks...

None of them, you take it to your local recycling depot who have a special container for it. at least mine does and another container for motor oil.
Neither, some councils have collection points for oil otherwise it won't be recycled. In Birmingham you have to take it to the local tip. Or put it in the General rubbish for landfill. Ideally it should be collected
Hi Kate, if you know someone who may be going to the tip/collection point, get them to take it.

Otherwise do as Rowan suggests.

Sounds typical. Councils get all individuals to drive to the tip and back rather than sort out a sensible collection while collecting the other waste.
Recyclenow say to put in a sealed container, as you’ve done, and put it in the general waste bin.
Our local council say's that old engine oil should be taken to the local 'household waste recycling centre ' the tip in other words. I'll guess that old cooking oil is treated the same as old engine oil.
I do what ethandron said. Seal it up and put in normal waste.
