another series we've stumbled upon accidentally.
Having watched the available episodes of season 5, we've started at season one just for the fun of it.

I've spoiled it for myself by likening the main character to one who went to the Roger Moore of Acting and can't stop giggling every time he's on screen.

Please tell me other people have had similar thoughts about a main character and it's not just me?

I've never seen the series. Indeed, until I read your post I'd never even heard of it.

However, assuming that the actor you're referring to is Eric Dane, I note that
(a) he states "I had no intention of acting"

; and
(b) in one of his early film roles he was credited as playing 'Overly dramatic actor'

A portent of things to come, perhaps?

Question Author
based loosely on the novel by William Binckley (sp ?) novel I think written in 1988.

Thanks for the links Chris, he's lived up (or down) to his ''I have no intention of acting ''

Fortunately, the rest of the cast can - intriguing story line.
y husband watches this crappy series. It never struck me he couldn't act particularly (you mean the captain, right?) although the parts where he in interracting with his children always seem cheesy.
I watch it have done since the beginning, I love the actor since I watched him in Greys Anatomy as McSteamy.
