Cleaning A Miele Oven

The Miele manual inevitably tells you to use their branded oven cleaner if soap and water won't remove any burned on marks. As if soap and water will remove burned on cooking residues! The reviews of their own product are very, very poor and it would be a waste of £17. Has anyone else overcome this problem? Can I use, maybe sparingly, a proprietary brand of oven cleaner as long as I only leave it on a few minutes maybe? Or is there an 'organic' oven cleaner which works? Help please!

Lemon squeeze usually works for me, hope it helps
have you tried a baking soda/ white vinegar paste ? brush on leave about an hour then hot water rinse...
Clean it the same way you have cleaned other ovens.
Could be tricky if you've never cleaned an oven.
I just clean mine with detergent after each use, then maybe monthly use a hand held steam cleaner for a thorough clean
Best way Wrangler is to pick up the phone and dial your local Over Cleaning Company. Simples;-))
I hate it when companies over clean. :-)
Thanks Douglas:-)

Oven Cleaning Co of course.
Being an Indesit kind guy I'm not au fait with the more exotic end of the oven market but, is there a problem using the kit you can buy in Aldi for a couple of quid?
It cleans everything, walls, racks and glass giving great results.
