No idea !!
No it doesn't Sqad, I know myself how much treatment in other countries costs, and I'm not suggesting that the hospital shouldn't charge them, but I am suggesting that their Go fund Me page does no-one any harm and objecting to it is somewhat wrong and mean spirited x
In truth, best stay close to home at 36 weeks pregnant, sad situation but totally avoidable .
True Kvali...true.
This go fund me/ crowdfunding is ludicrous. Can anyone set up a page. Can I do one for a set of new car tyres, it seems like anything goes.
Yes you can, try it and see how far you get.
Quite easy to research how to set one up, good luck.
I'll give you 50P
Be ready for the Media to catch on, they'll be round for photo opportunities, you may need a secretary to fend off the hate mail - people are funny about appeals sometimes.

/// i am surprised at the post which smacks a little of hypocrisy. ///

/// However, when it's "jonny foreigner" coming here and having a baby, there is an outcry about how the NHS is a world health service, not a national one. Especially from the OP. ///

Since you have accused me of being hypocritical, could you please explain to me where in my post have I said anything that makes me an hypocrite?
nothing in this post. i was just thinking of previous posts.

/// nothing in this post. i was just thinking of previous posts. ///

Then why did you refer to this post?

/// i am surprised at the post which smacks a little of hypocrisy. ///

Do you really know what you put?
In debate / discussion it’s good to come from different angles sometimes seeming hypocritical
I don't know if you are willingly misunderstanding me aog. I am surprised by this post as I have seen numerous other discussions and posts particularly about women coming here to give birth from other countries or our health service being used as a world wide health service. The hypocrisy is that when it's a British couple abroad we expect them to be accomodated
Difference is the NHS does not confiscate the baby (s) as a bargaining chip for payment.
the difference is that we pay for visitor's health treatment and the Dom Rep doesn't. Which is preferable?
perhaps we should?
This is too distressing even for the likes of me to read.
jno.....preference has nothing to so with this issue unless you mean that the mother "preferred to holiday in Dom Rep, a country where there is NO NHS.
