Had one removed from stomach which had been there since childhood, but had increased in size over time. My experience was the same as Milo's - except that the NHS wouldn't do it so had to go private. The biggest pain was the cost - ouch. (Turned out incidentally that the consultant was head of Oncology at the hospital that treated my wife. I guess he was doing it on the side to keep his hand in so to speak.)
Had a couple done in the past, it was fine until I had an infection took ages to clear. This doesn't happen that often so nothing really to worry about.
No never had one removed and it will depend upon the size and site of your mole. Is it going to need a skin graft?
Mrs sqad has had two removed and it was painless.........it was done in Spain and by a Spanish surgeon........;-)
Had a mole on my temple which was at risk of being sliced off by my hairdresser/barber! Had it removed at day surgery, two stitches, no pain, barber very happy.
Had a mole on my left leg diagnosed as a Malignant Melanoma. No real pain at the removal site, but where the skin graft was taken a fair amount of pain for about two weeks until it healed. If you do have a skin graft don't do as I did and accidentally 'knock it' ☺☺☺
I had quite a big one removed from under my arm. It took about a minute and didnt hurt at all. The local GP did it. It got infected so I did have to have antibiotics.
I've had one removed from my upper arm and one removed from my back. Both with local and a couple of stitches. No problem with either. I had them done in Canada at the Drs surgery. My Dr there was a lovely lady whose eyes used to light up at the thought of surgery or injections!
I had a couple done, using local anaesthetic, by my GP.
One was no problem, but at the sight of the other, the stitches burst open after around 4-5 hours. I had to go to the hospital to get it re-stitched as the doctor`s surgery was closed.
I have had a large one removed from the top of my arm. Really painless, no problem at all.
I have had two small ones removed from my face. Doctor did a brilliant job, no pain, no scars at all. Don't be worried it wil be ok.
