I've just received a message from [email protected] with a security alert saying that a new device has just signed in to my google account. There is a link inviting me to ' Check Activity'.

I am not aware of any such 'new device' and am hesitant to click on the link. Advice please .

Thanks.

Do you even have a google account? I don't
Don’t click any links in any emails like this, they’re all scams of one type or another. Delete the email.
In your GMail account click on the google apps icon (top right of page near your profile pic) then click 'Account' (you may have to scroll down the list to find it)

Under 'sign in and security' click 'device activity' and you should see a list of devices that have signed in to your account. Check that you recognise them all
I get genuine emails like that from Google, Ethandron, but I never click the link. I go my account in my usual way
Or just sign in to this page

and started blaarping the hash key on the phone pad asking is that it?
and then said oh it has gone off again....

and the chinese girl at the other end ( 888 is a lucky no in the East and I almost gave myself away on that one ) Listen carefully whilst I tell you what to do now...
Me yeaaaaah doubtfully in an estuarial wot-dat-den AB tone
Girl just frack off! - phone down
well how rude !
I received an email purportedly from Dyson. It said accept a Dyson cleaner, give your opinions on the web and you can keep the machine!!

Is this right? I doubt it. If it’s too good to be true it probably is.
That's definitely spam, chrissa but this really is from Google. Everyone with a google account should check their activity frequently.
