I came across a book I want on eBay. It's available as a PDF. The seller states that it's sent via eBay messages to be used on any device. How does that work? Are there possible pitfalls?
I've never seen this before.

I would have thought it would be ok - PDFs (Portable Document Format) were designed to be sent digitally and readable anywhere (You'll need Adobe Acrobat to do it, which is free.)
