Anything's better than ruddy iTunes. (It's horrid, bloated, clunky software, which the technical press frequently advises against installing).

Simply download you MP3 files to your chosen location on your PC and then play them either in VLC (which is the best all-round media player by far) or, if you'd prefer a player specifically designed for audio files, and which offers the same type of file management that iTunes does, use the excellent MusicBee:

Thanks Chris. I used to like itunes but I lost a lot of my library (long story) and all I have at the moment is the music in the cloud which is what I had purchased. I did have all my CDs on there as well that I had recorded but my DVD drive isn`t working so I can`t replace them. I did buy a stand alone drive but haven`t tried connecting it yet. Someone at work was telling me about Spotify but it looks like you pay about £9 per month and only have that music as long as you keep subscribing so I don`t want that. I want something that I can purchase music from and also put my CDs on. I`ll look into musicbee
