I live in a small village, hence, no police station. The surrounding small towns have no police stations.

Over the last year or so there have been regular break ins at Spa shops, Co-ops, off licences . etc, to steal fags booze, whatever. A recent one damaged the local Spa with a stolen JCB.

In the absence of an obvious police presence I have removed my seat belt as it annoys me, who is to know anyway.

As the company keep rebuilding it, it's prominent position must outweigh any criminality it attracts.

That must be so. However, I saw today metal shutters being erected, a huge iron post concreted into the ground in front of the store, all very expensive. There has to be a cost effect on insurance, etc. Sign of the times I suppose.
Wot. No County Mounties patrolling your manor?
Who controls and reports the outbreak of Epizootic Lymphangitis that we were all made to be aware of in the Instruction Book.
Lol. Only farm I saw in the Met was Broadwater Farm.
danny, an example is illegal off road motorbiking in our local park which has many exits. Of course these bikes don't have number plates, or false plates, and the drones have been used to both keep a watch and park and alert the police if the bikers are there and the drones have even followed the bikers home, recording the footage.

This has not only led to arrest and successful prosecution but has avoided high speed police chases in areas where children are playing and on the public highway.

For reasons that I don't understand it is not possible to install CCTV at the park.
hc, Sounds like they are doing a good job, and cheaper than the helicopter employed by my local police force.
out loud maybe but thinking, I doubt it.

“Are they closing”
Many village shops are already closed due to supermarkets taking the main custom, those ones who are stolen from a lot will certainly go the same way as the others.
just drifting through on a sunny day sk
you mean you have removed your seat belt from the car so you can wear around the village if you are attacked....[you will feel safer]

Your village isnt that one - brother meets sister, brother marries sister and has baby ?

( I think there was a case on this - it wasnt - a breach of Human Rights) - I think the judges asked - what right is being breached for chrissakes ? the right to be injured and run over?
// out loud maybe but thinking, I doubt it.//

oh yes or oh no ! be fair !

I quite like the idea / plea / excuse - I am not wearing my seat belt officer because they broke into the Post Office and stole ice cream last year.

true thinking out of the box

I know where my vote is going.
// We've only got three police stations across the entire county in Suffolk, which are only open during 'office hours' from Monday to Saturday, but it doesn't seem to cause a great deal of inconvenience to most people. //

Particularly the burglars, muggers, violent antisocial, and hate crime practitioners.

I was joking about the last one. They get their collars felt pronto enough. Especially when "reported" by one of the previous "types".
