MrK has had indeigestion every night for about a month now.

He takes Zantac which then gets rid of it, so he's not worried.

But i am, surely this isn't right? We haven't changed our diet, he doesn't drink in the week and only a couple at the weekend and never smokes.

Could be acid reflux. What's his diet like?

Its fairly good at home but he worjs late sometimes so gets himself a burger on the way home.

I know I've answered my own question really havent i?
Get some Lansoprazole. It doesn't just relieve the symptoms, it seems to cure it permanently. (in my experience)
These things happen. If it continues just get it checked out. These things can come and go.

Thanks Spicey, can i get that from the chemist? He wont go to the Docs.
That could very well be it then Darcey! If he's unwilling to give up his burger, then maybe a trip to see GP and gets some PPIs, e.g. Omeprazole or Lansoprazole, which I take...
Id he absolutely will not visit GP (which he should) then Nexium is a pretty good one to try.

Available all pharmacies and many supermarkets too.
I found Nexium was good when I had acid reflux.
No, I think you have to go to the doctor. But it could be a one-off trip. Well worth it, imo. (and I don't like going to the doctors, either)
I put up with years of agony, lol.
I always have some in, just in case my repeats of Omeprazole are late arriving.

Thank you all for your answers, he's ok once he's had a Zantac but i was worried it was something more.

But reading your answers it seems to be quite common.
I frightened myself a couple of years ago when I started having bad indigestion after never having it before, made the mistake of reading stuff online and convinced myself I had god knows what. GP sent me for a few tests and then prescribed Omeprazole and I'm fine. None of us like going to the docs but sometimes you just have to make yourself do it.

Thank you Horselady, i wpukd go if if were me but its MrK, you know what men are like. Ha Ha!
I have had this and now take Omeprazole every day. I wish I had never started it though, as now I can't stop taking it as the acid reflux is unbearable. That said, Omeprazole didn't stop the reflux, just neutralised the acid and pain a bit more. I have a hiatus hernia- linked with hyper mobility syndrome. The best thing you can do (other than stop eating after 8pm) is have a food intolerance test with York Test and find out what his system is reacting against. He could transform his life by stopping eating gluten or dairy for example. I rarely get any problems now that I fast, avoid gluten and dairy and try not to eat late at night.
I used to get unbearable reflux, which caused Barretts syndrome (mild, fortunately). A Hiatus Hernia caused it, though I went through the mill with treatment for h.Pylori before I found out that it had nothing to do with the reflux. I was on Omeprazole, but the dose kept creeping up, so in the end, I opted for a hernia repair. Now I don't take any medication, and don't get reflux anymore.

I would highly recommend that he sees a doc to find the cause, if I had left mine, the Barretts may have ended up a lot worse.
