I live in a block of flats surrounded by other blocks of flats in Edinburgh.
The BT reception is very poor and cuts out frequently. There is one window at which I require to sit to get only fair reception. Is there any device out there which could improve my reception. I use an HTC one 8.

I'm confused by your question. Are you talking of a mobile or landlines? BT don't do mobile do they?
Question Author
My HTC is a mobile phone. I have no landline.
BT do provide a mobile service and say that their users have access to hundreds of Wi-fi hotspots. Unfortunately where I am the spots are not hot enough
Have a look at this, arabbadot.
Re: Signal booster
0800 800150 guy I spoke to was really good an helpfully said he had to run diagnostic tests, whatever they were think it's based on your postcode to see if I qualified which thankfully I did so he then put me through to department to order device, asked how much it costs was told it was free, he explained I should get full 3G signal in house can have up to 5 phones registered with it, I will wait till tues and see how it is, I'll write review when it comes

Bednobs, BT own the biggest mobile network in the UK, EE.
I don't know if BT do them but I'd guess so, I have a booster box in my office at work which massively increases reception to staff mobile phones within a limited area but that's from O2.
Arabbadot, it is possible that other mobile networks may have better reception for your location, depending on their transmitter location.

There are mobile apps you can download to check the network signals and compare.

If you were to find that O2 has the best for you, be aware that Tesco mobile uses their network and often gives more competitive prices.
There actualy only four big networks in the uk .. EE.. o2 ..Three and Vodaphone. .. all the others 'piggyback' and offer their services via the large four.
Rather than me try to explain it, have a look here ..
